The correspondences listed on each card provided depth that was unexpected. There are so many possible connections that it is easy for a reader to miss one or two that could turn the reading a new direction— or at least make you go “hmmmm”. For example, of 6 cards drawn for my first reading, three had a direct connection to Tiphereth. That brought several thoughts that led to a greater understanding of the problem/process at hand.
The astrological aids ( my weakest area) were very handy and easy to follow up on if so desired.
The symbols beneath the name of each card as well as the elemental symbols on the bottom provided quick mental touchstones. I loved the crowns and helmets on the court cards!.
Although I only used the ToC for this first reading, I thought of what a great comparative reading deck this would be. I’d put the ToC in the center and use two RSW decks on either side of the card. What a blast that would be- -all of the correspondences with two artists interpretations. That could send the already deep meditation properties of your deck to new levels while adding depth to many RSW clones….. I didn’t wouldn’t use reversals on this deck unless doing only a one card reading. Each card had so much info I didn’t feel that the reversals were all that necessary. Issues that are portrayed by reversals are easy to see in context with so much info on the card.
I learned to play piano backwards— theory first. This deck is like that for me. It is perfect for people like me who wish to learn the theory, the esoteric issues before they care to tap into intuitive reading. I remember when first told to just look at the pictures. That made me crazy because I knew the pictures were deeper than what I would see. And my little triple Virgo brain hated not knowing any of the secrets!. I believe in honing one’s intuition, but I also believe that one must know the rules before breaking them. So a deck that relies on the esoteric theory of the cards seems to me to be vital.
Make no mistake though. I don’t see this as a beginner’s deck or a deck specifically for teaching. In that context I would use it as an addendum— a set of flash cards to help one remember and place the more esoteric correspondences and Tree of Life. On a personal note I see this deck as becoming my primary meditation deck and deck for personal growth. I probably wouldn’t use it for readings for the public. It’s a diving deck for jumping into the deep end and to explore ![]()
Thanks for sharing this with me! I loved the reading I did for myself because it was a reading that will take days to fully realize. I walked away from it with useful info, but there’s more to come later….
